wow, 4 pickups inthe top 10!
Ranger is the 2nd most popular pickup, its a good looking vehicle! No sign of the Amarok :^P Hopefully it will give the Hilux a run real soon. Hopefully the Falcon & Terri cracked 1000 each for the mth. Last edited by turbodewd; 04-12-2012 at 03:11 PM. Reason: k |

Last month Camry and Aurion combined were the best selling vehicle, I wonder if this month combined if it is number 1 again - I have been seeing new Camrys and Aurions as family cars everywhere.
From $28990 driveaway and 0% finance....money talks. |

Nice to see Focus almost outselling Cruze. Where are all those sales that Holden said would arrive with the introduction of a Cruze hatch?

Camry is so high because they are giving the hybrids away to taxi owners to try to kickstart their save the planet hoax . wait till they start to get thousands of batteries to discard , they won't look so green then

Falcon and Terry almost even split. Looks like the Falcon has stabilised. Hopefully it will start to get momentum.

Local production is perfectly aligned with sales at the moment. The only way to go is up from here, with a little bit of overtime hopefully.............

Ford sales are chugging along quite nicely.
Good to see Focus and Ranger up where they belong. If only Mondeo and Fiesta could sell a few more. Ford AU should be happy with this result.

Wow going to be close between Ford and Hyundai for 4th outright for 2012. If the November numbers continue to Decemeber there will be 219 between them at year end.
Toyota have smashed everyone once again. [/I]

Why are the two top 10 lists different!!??
Ranger is above Navara in one list and below it in the Car Advice list. |

Interesting figures.
Toyota's Camry figures just show what cheap money can do for sales (0% finance anyone?). It is also great to see the Ranger selling so well (although how do Mazda's BT50 figures compare?). Problem, as I see it is that despite the Falcon being a great car, at only 1,000 units being shifted per month, local production surely cannot be sustainable. It will be a great pity to have the horrible American Taurus foisted upon us. If it has to happen, an AWD Mondeo (with auto diesel engine) would surely be preferable as there is not that much difference in size between the Falcon and the Mondeo. Holden must also be wondering what has gone wrong with the Cruze as the introduction of the hatch has done nothing for total volume. It has actually gone backwards when compared to Mazda3 and Focus. I suppose the general buying public know a good car when they see it. |

Welcome to the forums Peter, just remember you have to include territory and falcon ute sales when talking about local production which at a rough guess is circa 30,000 units per annum. Could well be above that magic number so sustain local production.

Given that they are spending money on an (2014) update, then the figures that they have must suggest that they are viable...

Camry/Aurion sales:
October 4310 sales November 4155 sales I think some motoring publications are missing a real story here, a large Australian made sedan a top seller. Maybe there is hope for Falcon and Commodore yet... If they are priced right. |

I'm stoked that Focus achieved 1920, I recon Ford dealers could have sold more if they were available. Perhaps some keener optioning on Abiente to match Mazda 3 Neo, although I see good deals on Trend.... FYI, Falcon-Territory-Ute production is now limited to around 3,000-3,200 a month (selling everything they make). Last edited by jpd80; 05-12-2012 at 06:33 PM. |

Marketing. That's all it is. They just wanted people to believe that they were driving a real Falcon/Commodore competitor rather than a stretched Camry.
Unfortunately, whatever Territory and Falcon Ute sales do, I still believe that Ford as a manufacturer in Australia is doomed. In this brave new world, Ford can no longer afford to have small runs of "orphan" models just for the Australian market. If, however the American unions "grew up" and recognised what a great car the Falcon (and Territory) are and allowed variants to be sold in sustainable numbers in the US and elsewhere then the thousands of jobs in Geelong and in supplier companies could be saved. That is why Commodore is being a longer lifespan because GM will allow (albeit small numbers) to be sold in America. I just wish Ford would do the same. |
