Hey all,
I've posted about this before, but for those who forgot, NSW registered vehicles no longer have to display their rego stickers as of today. I've just ripped mine off my cars and trailers!

Now all you have to do is remember when the rego is due.
One day late...and big fine. In SA fixed speed cameras now have number plate recognition built in as well as all the other goodies. |

Wish QLD would to the same, as I always forget to put the new one on. And hate trying to get it straight and look right on a car.

And not an offence to display an expired sticker. I've got one of those repo rego stickers for my XB I've been waiting to put on.

I rather the damn stickers. We have had this in place already for a little here in SA.
Makes it very hard for the owners to remember its due. Makes the front screen look nice and clean though!

According to the RMS other states will be notified that we do not require rego stickers. However it's interesting because when speaking to a police officer he said they'd received no official notification about the new requirements.

I've heard a couple comments about not being able to remenber when it's due, don't they send out reminders? We get one a month before it's due.

Apparently in WA it saves $2M a year in sticker printing. It's anybody's guess how much revenue it added in fines. I've nearly missed my rego twice, once because I put the bill down and it got covered up with other stuff (my fault, I know, but at least the sticker was a constant reminder), and the second time because I never received the "first and final" notice.
For me, it would be better to have them, but you can't argue with a government determined to save some money that they can waste somewhere else.

If you are so worried about not having the reminder when your rego is due, make your own sticker.
Love the no sticker rule, always was loosing them on the trailer anyway.

You get a renewal letter from the RTA, and one from your greenslip company. How can you forget?? And how often do you look at the sticker to read the date anyway? |

Its going to save $X million a year for NSWs version of VicRoads!
So you'll all be seeing a smaller bill at rego time, am I right? Right? I make myself laugh |

if you can't manage your affairs well enough to remember your rego how to you manage day to day living? do you forget to renew your licence because there isn't a sticker to remind you?
this is a positive move rego stickers are a pain at work where we have 150 buses
