Curious to know why AFF members are what they are. I am only interested in the Falcon as it is Australian made. Don't care for other Ford products. What about you?
EDIT - I should have also mentioned that this includes any derivative of the Falcon platform - ute and Territory and past models such as van, wagon, coupe, Fairlane/LTD. Last edited by Resurrection; 29-01-2013 at 01:11 PM. |

Bit on the fence about this one. I love my Falcons and that is what hooked me to Ford, but I wouldn't buy a focus, fiesta, kuga etc. those sort of cars aren't me. I would, however, buy a Courier, Ranger or an F truck. Hell, I'd even import a Mustang if I had a disposable income. Ford make a lot of cars that I have interest in, but of course there are also cars that I personally do not like.

I like many Fords, but not all Fords.
Falcons, Fairlanes, Territory, LTD, Capri (early models), Cortina, escort. Plus many American models, Galaxie, Thunderbird, Mustang, bronco, F trucks for example. Not much of a fan of Lasers, Mondeo, Taurus, Focus, Capri (later models), fiesta Needs more poll options. |

Im a Falcon fan and a Ford fan, but not exclusively a Ford fan. If i had to buy a small car today Id buy the Cruze or the Focus. One is made here, the other is a Ford.
If I had to buy a Mondeo or Mazda6 id look at them closely |

Definitely a Falcon fan more then anything, putting a turbo on one of the best Australian engines ever made was more then enough to lure me away from the red camp.

Definitely a Falcon fan only. I have no interest in the rest of the range, as I despise imported 4cyl front wheel drive cars. I will only drive Australian made vehicles, unless we're talking about prestige cars like Merc, BMW etc in which case I can make an exception.

I'm a Ford fan more than I'm Falcon fan. If they stopped making Falcons it wouldn't bother me too much, I'll still be buying a Ford, imported or otherwise.

I have been a Ford fan all my life. Cars, trucks (Thames Trader and D series) and tractors (Fordson Super Major and Ford 5000). Loved all Ford cars from Mk2 Zodiacs, Mk1 Cortinas, Mk 4 Zodiacs, Aussie Falcons and Fairlanes from XR to XC. I was brought up with them all and was driving Ford tractors at age 12.
My collection of cars up until recently stood at 13 including a GT, four coupes, 4 Capris, 2x 3000GT, Mk2 3000, Mk3 2.8i, XB Fairmont K code, ZG Fairlane and XC GS wagon etc. Also a big collector of tractors and trucks. I have probably bought and sold another 30 cars on top of that. I am now selling all of my older cars. I am now down to three. I will focus my efforts on restoring medium size (up to 13ton gross) trucks and Fordson tractors. The holy grail for me is a 1964 Fordson County Super Six. I have owned and driven as daily drivers ZF Fairlanes (My first car) XC GXL, utes, pvans etc. I have owned new a EA Falcon, EF Futura, EL Futura, AUII XR6 ute, BA XR6 ute and FG XR6 ute. The FG will be the last new Ford I buy for the foreseeable future. Nice car but I have had toomany issues with it. I hope they continue to make the Falcon but I believe the next update will be the last true Aussie icon. My favorite three cars of all time in no specific order are XA Falcon GT Coupe (owned one) Mk 2 Zodiac low line (unrealised dream) Mk 1 Capri 3000E (UK edition) (Had the Aussie 3000GT version so that sort of counts) The fact that Ford no longer have a proper truck division and tractor division must have Henry turning in his grave. Trucks went to Stirling (US) and Iveco (Europe) and tractors became New Holland (Fiat) Steve Last edited by JG66ME; 29-01-2013 at 03:56 PM. |

Where the hell do I vote because I'm honestly neither.
Though I tend to like American and European Fords more so I guess the first option for me if I had to make a vote. |

Poll doesn't really cover me. I am a Ford fan but my love of Ford would diminish if the Falcon died.

I came to Ford for the Falcon, I stayed with Ford for the Falcon, and if the Falcon goes...I will still prefer and promote Fords over another brand, but be less enthused about them. It's a hard one for me because I support both Ford and the Falcon equally but I always keep coming back to the reason I came to Ford in the first place...

Falcon fan.
I base that on if there was never a falcon, I wouldn't look at Ford any different than I do Subaru, Mazda, Toyota etc.I would choose cars based on individual merits rather than a bias. That being said, there is a Falcon, so I've developed a bias for Fords global products. But that wouldn't sway my decision too heavily if I had to choose between a mondeo and a 6 or Liberty. Edit: Regarding the pole, I wouldn't say I would not buy a Ford that wasn't Falcon. They make other fantastic products. I would say I wouldn't buy solely with bias and one eye, I would shop around.

Same I came to ford for the falcon. If it died I may still buy a ford I don't know. I would have to cross that bridge if I come to it (hopefully not)

Like i've said before, I came for the I6, I'll stay for the I6 and I'll leave shortly after the I6 does.
But if I'm after a vehicle in a class other than a falcon, I will assess it on its merits and buy accordingly. If it just so happens to be a ford, good!

Ford fan here. I love that we have an aussie made Ford and its a great car, I've owned 7 myself. But I will gladly buy any Ford product if it met my requirements. Its good that most of the current range are at the top of their respective classes for engineering.
Really about the only thing I couldnt bring myself to buy would be something with a Holden badge (I would however own one, as long as I didnt actually buy it). Would buy other GM brand cars though, so the Ford vs Holden thing is ingrained in my DNA.

A Ford fan, I follow their whole range and not one car.
Always have and always will. I'll admit my interest in the Falcon has waned to a point that I wouldn't care if it disappeared. The rest of the range offered by Ford is very competitive.

I love my falcons, but have always loved the Ford heritage, especially racing.
Don't mind some of the new cars, but will be interested to see what happens here when the Falcon goes to the big car park in the sky, if it goes. Sorry, I can't pick either of the voting options. Ed

For the most part, Falcon's and Mustang's. Could not see myself driving a Focus or any other them.

Learnt to drive on the family's Falcons (EA, ED EL), used to own a Falcon (ED) so I have a bit of a soft spot for them.
But I dont think I will ever own another one. I have had more fun in my focus & Cortina than I ever did in the Falcons. But still a fan of all Fords. |

been a long time Ford fan/owner from Mk3/4 & 5 Cortina's (yes a Mk5 V6 2.3 Ghia imported from NZ) a 1972 XA Fairmont 1989 Ea Falcon wagon 3 Ford Econovans (one of which survives as a work hack - the previous 2 stolen and burnt out) and now my 07 BF Ute
Only digressed once to a green oval (2001 Landrover Freelander) prior to the ute Should the Falcon Ute go then maybe a Ranger or a total change to a Mondeo wagon Btw learnt to drive in a MkIV Zephyr!! What a beast!! |

Falcon man through and through. I really don't know what other car I'd drive to be honest. Only other car I'd drive is probably the Toyota Landcrusier (Always wanted one).
I don't have allegiances to Manufacturers, as they all have their faults and pros. Certain models are what I'm more a fan of. |

Falcon dragged me in but i'm a Ford fan first and foremost. Supported Ford in the Sierra days, have owned multiple non Falcons and when the Falcon goes as we know it, i'll almost certainly buy another Ford for myself.
My wife however doesn't care, and although I would sway her decision, it's up to her whats she buys next, one thing I will NEVER own though is a Holden Just on my last statement, this was one of the keys in Ford/Holden creating 'fans'. Back when it was the 'big three', if you could make a fan of a buyer, they would almost certainly never buy the 'enemy' product. In the last 10 or so years though, we've had a proliferation of solid brands in the market which dilutes the 'fan' effect to a degree. |
