... and I thought there weren't any more surfaces they could tack plastic / mesh / matt black paint on. Seems I was wrong.

That is nothing like that topgear chop, the about looks horrid but maybe a bad angles..well, angles..lol
Also from those pics the front and rear touch ups seem odd with the chunky mid section...

Oh dear.
I was so excited, and those pics have just hosed me down! Wtf is going on with that rear end treatment? Have they added fake boot lights to use up surplus faux lights off the maloos tailgate? No rear wing, have they confused the car with a senator? The front is a little better executed, then I spot the pimples on the front bar - I assume blind spot sensors or something? They should have just mounted some whiskers off a cab forward Volvo truck and been done with it. Or a couple of ray marine radar domes, would have been just as subtle. Hopefully the white paintwork just makes it look like a POS. I hold just a little faith that in a nice metallic grey + black wheels it will look like it should. In the meantime, in storm trooper white, it's a monumental FAIL.

Usually Im pretty unbiased on these reveals. Front end is ok, bar the way the bonnet and grill dont look to fit together. But that rear end, anything past the front doors is terrible.

The front end is looking very BMW.
I'm not a fan of that rear spoiler though. Also wondering if they've deleted the fog lights and are only running the DRLs(can't really see in the pic).

These pics aren't for real are they? Looks like crap. Front end reminds me of my mums lancer at a glance. I actually like the look of the current gts.

OMFG, I am not overly bias (anti Holden), but if those pics are final production versions, to me it looks butt ugly. The design doesn't seem to have any flow. The front treatment looks different form the side, which is different again from the back. No no no, maybe it will look better in the flesh. Looks very Opel Insignia from the back with that lip spoiler.
I'm still shaking my head writing this, I can't believe this design passed (I may be on my own).

You think by now HSV and FPV (Ford) would have taken a leaf out of their Euro counterparts styling book ?
Look at M, RS, AMG cars, they are subtley tough; lower, wider bigger wheels, understated body kits, etc. A recipie that works. HSV think it's all about how many cheap and non-functional extra bits you tack onto the body that make their cars cool and desireable, Ford just love to add garish 70's stripes and colour schemes to their "cool and desireable" models . They both scream "aftermarket". Less is more.

That's a Aus. Top Gear, "What Were They Thinking?"
The middle looks like a commie, the front looks like ?, & the rear, it doesn't fit with anything. It's also not easy to tell from those angles, but the rear looks awfully short. It looks like there's very little boot lid, almost a hatchback? Last edited by cobramania; 08-05-2013 at 08:27 AM. Reason: Spelling |

Pretty tame by HSV standards.
Looks pretty boring compared to E-series. Front looks ok, rear is very under-done.

I've never liked any of the HSV's on initial release, but have grown to like them over time. I cant see me liking this one though. Guess I'll have to wait to see it in the flesh.

That is just bloody awful. They've got curvy bits and straight lines intersecting everywhere. It looks completely wrong!

Will wait for final release before commenting but I suspect there won't be another HSV to top the look of the E1 series. They were hawt.
