Hey guys,
Just been searching for 15 mins trying to find pictures of that Matte black Nascar look Mitsubishi Magna - had black very wide steelies and it was flared I think. They were posted on AFF a couple of years ago - does anyone know what thread it was or have the photos? cheers, Mat

I always loved that car and wanted to see what it would look like when finished.
Many years ago...possibly the late eighties when "Pro Street" became the rage...there was a small movement that unfortunately got nowhere called "Pro Nascar". It would be like that Magna...smooth, aerodynamic, fat tyres all around, low, and wild paintwork, with great handling and absolutely useable in the real world. It was a knock back at the pro street image which was to try and make a drag car for the road, but which were usually totally illegal and utterly useless trailer queens with massive back tyres, skinny little front runners (where your brakes and steering are going on...sensible...), and mountain motors sticking out of the bonnet that attracted cops like flies to poop. It made a lot of sense, but never seemed to get off the ground. That Magna would look awesome when finished. |

I don't mind that NASCAR look. All the young kids that were in my age group dream of adding shiny 20" wheels to their cars (boring), but I think black steelies with fat tyres look okay to me.

That does look good.
You'd have to have the AWD version though. |

AWD...now there's an idea. The AWD was a great car. I remember the TV advert...short lived...that compared the AWD Magna to the Falcon and Commodore on a tight winding dirt country road, and how it held the road better at speed.
The advert was banned for, of course, "encouraging reckless driving"... |

I think it's just a waste of time and effort doing that to a front driver which is why the AWD popped into my head. |

Always loved the look of those Magnas, but wouldn't have one unless it was AWD
