Did Holden give us a peak at the new Commodore?

Anyway, in the latest Holden propaganda campaign, there is a shot of a designer at his desk with some images around him...

I don't understand the logic behind this latest ad campaign.

Surely, promoting the new VF at every opportunity would be of far more economic benefit
than constantly reminding everyone that Commodore leaves in four years time but Holden name is staying...

I'd say it was a tad deliberate. Holden's design team will be lending their input into GM's other design studios around the globe - somewhat similar to how Ford Australia had some design input into the latest Mustang.

But then again they're only design sketches, which may not point to anything - heck some of the sketches I pump out in my spare time would have the rumour mills spinning.

It will be great if commodore is made in china. its easier to teach them how to assemble a car and check the build quality, than for an accountant to design one.

my impression from media is that in china there is high demand for medium sized cars with leg room in the rear. OVERDUE.

Also that there is a high demand for small engines and gas powered vehicles. HIGH DEMAND HERE IN RURAL OZ.

For what it is the Commodore has big boots to fill.
What car in the GM empire can fill those boots and reclaim Commodore type sales each month.
Take away those sales numbers and where does Holden sit on the annual car sales ladder.

The ironic thing is, that if I took your post and replaced the words GM, Holden and Commodore with Ford, Falcon and Territory, I would have an equally compelling argument.

Except the Commodore is 3000 sales a month to Holden, and their best selling model, sadly Falcon and Terry are neither for Ford so Commodore is a bigger loss to Holden then Falcon will ever be to Ford. Plus add that Holden has played the "we're Australian cars" card for so long and will lose that instantly come 2017.

If Motoring Talk on ABC Radio is anything to go by, most non-auto people are assuming that Holden is doing a complete shutdown. That was certainly what people were ringing in to ask when ford's announcement came out. (Questions like "how long can they get parts for their Focus?")

Holden and Ford are (pretty much) losing money on every locally built car. If they can continue to sell the same number of imported cars,.and Malibu/Mondeo take up (some) of the three box slack; both will be in a far better position profit wise, with no factories to run and staff.

However, it will be interesting to see what the retirement of Falcon/traditional RWD Commodore will do to sales off the rest of Ford and Holden's cars.

The commodore is not going to made in australia.

But you know you can just go down to your Holden dealer and buy many types of holden that are not made in australia now, just as it has been for years.

Holden will still be selling holdens for many years to come, they will just not be made here in aus, because australia is set on the New World Order agenda and that's all that it's about.
