I'm thinking exactly the same thing, buy an Isuzu now or hold out for the Everest.

Probably around the same time we land someone on Mars.
I dunno about you guys but it seems we're getting all the new stuff a bit too late, new Transit/Mondeo couldnt come sooner. |

Ford does seem to announce early and deliver late. Other brands seem to keep development news concealed and announce later, so that announce-to-delivery doesn't seem as long.
The time from announce-to-delivery of Falcon Ecoboost and Territory Diesel was a painfully long time. Same seems to be happening with Everest - it already seems like we've been waiting for ages. To me it seemed like Colorado 7 was announced after Everest, seemingly in reaction to the Everest announcement, and it's on the market already. Lukeyson

Ranger retails higher then both the Izuzu ute and or the Colorado so expect the same for Everest. You get what you pay for!

Well be interesting to see the Everest. By the time it comes out I know a few, myself included who may be interested. Very interested. What makes it easier is my local Ford dealer also sells Izuzu, so comparisons will be very easy and it would be interesting to see the sales between the 2. I find it funny that he also never stocks similar trim levels. Eg between the Ranger and Izuzu ute.

Hold out for the Everest.. Ranger is several notches above Colorado/Dmax, so expect Everest to be the same. More of a Prado/Pajero competitor.
Probably more expensive than 7 and Isuzu though. |

Don't know but knowing my luck probably about a month after I buy a new car.
I think I would love an Everest. But I can't wait for it to be released. I need a new car within the next few weeks. |

I think these pics are taken in Sweden? Obviously Everest is still in development so we won't see it any time soon you would think..

Probably at the Bosch test facility. Reminds me of Ford Australia's halcyon days when E265/Territory attribute prototypes (the jacked up BA Fairmonts) and BA test mules were photographed in the snow there

wow that mount for the rear lower control arm hangs down low. I can see that getting hung up on a few rocks off road. Would have thought they would tuck that up next to the chassis rail like a watts link falcon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mZ1pyp9XAk Id expect the next Prado to be even better so they will still distance themselves from this market. Makes you wonder though, how expensive will they get for vehicles designed to take into the bush. most will never see it till they are 10 years old.

Thanks for that, haven't been following closely (Obviously). What is with the leaf springs in the rear (Antiquated) and only makes 5kw more than a current Ranger, would have expected better output from a 3 litre turbo diesel. or is that to meet the current euro ratings.Cheers Geoff.

I don't know how seriously you can take the underbody of a half Ranger half Territory mule, we will have to wait and see what it becomes I think

I actually think the Territory/Ranger mule is sitting on a completed Everest chassis, so I think that lower control arm will be production.
You can see in other photos they try and conceal it with some brush type stuff. But it does sit quite high so I suspect its not as low as you might think, probably end up being similar to a Patrol.

If the MUX comes out with a good deal in the next few months, Ford will miss out on yet another sale to me. Also does anyone know will the back seat split 50/50??? If it does not then it has to be a MUX.
Come on Ford ...... |
