Good morning
Some of you may have noticed a new header banner at the top of the page celebrating the 5,000,000th post which milestone was achieved a couple of days ago. It is fitting that the post should be from one of the foundation members here (ID 141); that the subject matter should relate to a vehicle that was the 'hero' car in the Ford range at the time AFF came into being and that it was achieved as we commence our 10th year of operation. It's a credit to all the contributors who make this community what it is today. Cheers Russ

Can I add to that and say the post was also in the true spirit of what the forum is about.
I was the OP of the thread and asked a question of my fellow members. Instead of getting a couple of yes/no or vague answers, I got a thread full of helpful responses from people willing and in fact enthusiastic about sharing everything they know about topic. I now know more about that topic than 99.9% of the population. All by simply asking the question. How powerful is that!!! I don't even use Google anymore for car stuff. That is why this is the best forum on the planet.... Thanks guys, and Happy Australia Day!!! |

Bugger, I have been watching that counter in the hope I could fluke it. A about 2 weeks ago it said 4,838,415. Still says: 4,870,035.
Is it frozen, inaccurate or malfunctioning for awhile? Its great to see that we have gone this far. And I have only been part of this forum for just over 4 years.

I would go one further here, and congratulate each and every member on their contributions to AFF over the many years.
Without the contribution then, we would not have met this milestone. Much more important than that is that the sheer volume of knowledge shared would've been smaller, and inevitably costs to each and every one of us as Ford Owners may have been that much more expensive(knowledge helps get to the root of issues that much quicker) If I was asked as to where I envisaged AFF would be in 10 years time, I would have had a hard time believing that Aus production was being scheduled to shut up shop for good. I believe that the support for the Blue Oval would still be strong(and in another 10 years I still believe that will be true) I dare say that the next 10 years will likewise be "interesting" - I sincerely hope that the changes are positive, and the Ford evolves in a manner that sees them strongly positioned, not just as a day to day run around car company, but also as a performance manufacturer that ANY car enthusiast/owner will be proud of! Thank you for your ongoing support!! |

Great work, I am a recent member but find the content here a good social thing as well as a motoring resource. Even the meets with other classes of cars has been great. Thanks to all those that make this happen. For a little country (NZ included of course) the stats on this site make impressive reading.

Well said wulos. In ten years we'll still be talking about the same sort of things, just including the Mustang. I joined in 2004 so its my tenth birthday!
