Default Great deals on HSV crate engines

I know some will not be interested but there are those that love engines no matter what the badge.

I saw this on another forum and thought how good of a deal is this?? i cannot think of better value for money engine for any conversion than this. Being a complete long motor minus accessories is a steal hell its even got the charger on it

HSV LSA supercharged crate motor 430kw for $11,500 inc. GST

With that and the herrod 5.0 why would anyone bother with a rebuild?

Looks like very good value considering people would be paying that just for a blower kit for an LS3 etc

price must have gone up. A few days ago they were $10500 from the same place. one of those with a tune, full exhaust and a pully change in a lighter older model car would be nice.

If the rumours are true then that link might be of interest to the NSW HW Patrol

I see CAPA also have one of these on Ebay at the moment but they are trying to get $12995 for the same as the link above. Ebay fees I guess.

If its true I think Steve from oztrack would be all over this. it serves the nsw police force right thinking they need over 500kw for a highway patrol car when apparently speed kills.

looks a bit expensive too me, its probably not really, but if you don't need the supercharged engine and that many horses then a standard crate motor for 5k looks good value for a transplant or a hot rod.

from what i read walkinshaw have removed him from their dealers list and it seems the consensous is that its his dodgey tune that caused it to let go thats rumors anyway

yeah I think walkinshaw should cull alot of there dealers. they were pretty much letting anyone who had a dyno become an official dealer.
Being a high profile car you would think he would do a safe tune on it.

The 5.0 from Herrod is nearly $3k more and doesn't have a blower.

So unfortunate that anything Ford is so bloody expensive...

And some clown wanted to charge me $11,600 for a used Chrysler 5.7 V8.

I should just fit this instead. It would be a better engine.

Herrod are now the Ford Racing distributor and yes, here is the thread in the sponsor section-

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11413070

It is the engine you mention but its more than double that figure. Remember, by the time you convert to AUD, add freight, duties and the all important GST.

Herrod's thread openly welcomes you to still import your own, but your own your own come any problems. Still, you would save yourself a few grand bringing in your own.

And the wording in Herrod's thread can lead to you thinking it's the supercharged engine. But it's not, it's the lower comp coyote that suits forced induction.

That LSA pricing is unbelievable, I feel violated as a Ford supporter...

LS series engines would be a great option to repower an older car, for sure.
