People buy or build near existing race venues then have a sook about the noise.
It's not right. Sign if you agree (closes August 25 - please hurry) http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/wor...on?PetNum=2261 |

I want to sign this, but it requires a QLD address.
Might Google an address and try again later, but I don't want to ruin the integrity of the petition with false details.

Ive already signed it.
I agree, build near a track. Expect noise. Should be a clause somewhere in the property deed IMO

Sign away though folks, have to live in QLD though - can't get enough attention to this matter. I wouldn't buy a house beside an already existing train line then complain about the noise, it'd be different if a train track was to be built outside my home. Get on it! Cheers!

Thanks guys, last few of days, so be good to smash out another couple of hundred sigs.
Supershifty, did see it in the QLD section, but the pub gets a shed load more traffic, so thought it would go better here |

Just realised the correlation - No folks, Shonky and I (supershifty) are not related.
All good though! Cheers!

Signed. They should actually be building more tracks.
There are less now than 40 years ago, yet the population of the state has doubled and they are trying to make it socially unacceptable to speed on public roads. Why not provide the facilities and infrastructure for those that want to use their cars and bikes in that way. There would have to be a buck in it, surely.

Exactly the same with Sandown Raceway. Same as Moonee Valley horse racing track, houses around it, people complain about noise. Essendon Airport, residents building near it are complaining about noise and want the airport closed.... Its probably a developer who is keen on that land to turn it into a new suburb, they'd be black mailing them getting residents to complain and arc up about noise. There was similar shifty stuff happening out here, there is a big section of land, maybe 30 acres behind my housing estate, and someone has cows on it, a developer kept trying to get the guy to sell it but he wouldn't, then all of a sudden someone poisoned his cows and killed them all. This was one of the many issues that contributed to Catalina Park Katoomba being closed. Though building the track in a residential area didn't help the cause either.

Shonky, I won't be surprised when they try to start implementing more restrictions on Benaraby Raceway. The amount of houses out that way now is growing quite rapidly. The funny thing is, as a kid a mate of mine's family used to live in a caravan on a block; about where the middle of the track is now! Let's just hope the worm doesn't turn.... Ed
