Default Newbie questions

Hi All

I've just bought my very first Falcon Ute and I have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with!

I want to know what model it is, I've tried the Etis register which says it's an XL but when I go on Redbook it says the vin should be different. When I check the model number on here it says it's an XT. I'm confused

I'd like to know what the payload is and have been told it may well have heavy duty suspension fitted to it as it looks high! How can I find out?

What's my towing capacity? How do I find out?

If I want front fogs, can I retro fit them easily? Will the wires be present and just have to change the indicator stalk and fit the lights?

TIA

PS The handbook is for an FG

Mate, welcome to Ford Forums.

If it is a ute it will be a XL. XT is for sedans.

In order to answer your questions we probably need some more info.....

What year model is it?

Is it manual or auto?

You say that you have a handbook for a FG. Is the car a BA/BF, FG or FG MKII?

Thanks for the reply

It was built in Dec 2009

It's an auto, LPG only (if that helps)

As got the lady bit I have no idea at all! How can it be an XL and an FG? I'm confused lol

What you have is a FG Falcon Ute XL. FG is the model designation and XL is the trim level.

Max tow capacity is 2300kg. You need the trailer to have brakes and a load levelling kit with the tow bar. It will tow up to 1600kg without the load levelling kit.

Have a look in the "FG to FGX" section of the forum. Do a search on key words that you are asking about and you should get your answer on most things. If you can't find the answer post a thread in the "FG to FGX" section. Speaking of which you may find this thread moved to the other section by a moderator as it has to do with a FG.
