What do you think? And are there any engine conversions you'd like to see?

I would have thought the Miami V8 into the Ranger would have been a better idea.

Fit out the back, couch, 60" TV, PS4 and posters of porn stars. Wear my 1320 Video baseball cap backwards as well as I cruise around in my 1337 mobile van everywhere. We don't even get the 3.2L diesel in our Transit unfortunately just the 4 cylinder engine. Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 26-07-2015 at 10:15 PM. |

I like the idea of having an Aurion with RWD electric and keeping the same engine in the front.
That thing could be a monster. |

A EB4 into anything old school Ford like an Escort/Capri/Cortina.
The Range really is crying out for something "sporty", a Raptor like option would be killer. EB V6T, a 5.0....just something if they are going to take the ute then replace the XR6T please. That Alfa is just plain hot though, its not even released and with 500BHP people already thinking about transplants..LOL

I would love to see the 3.0V6 TD and 7 speed auto from the just superseded Navara into the older shape (GQ?) Patrol.
I reckon that would make a great off road combo. |

Im with you on this one, and even if the 5.0 is a bit of a hard one to get past the bean counters surely the mustang 2.3 ecoboost would drop in there without much hassle. That would get the ranger moving and still get good milage.

That diesel Barra that was developed under Polites but never saw the light of day. Would make a fine Ranger flagship, and I reckon would've seen the light of day in F-series and Super Duty as well.

im sort of over the engine conversion thing these days with modern cars, too many regulations, too much like hard work with all the electronic bs and too expensive .
give me an early non pollution car and a crate engine with carbys a few bolt ons and the only modern bit of electronics i would want ..... an electronic ignition and id be happy as a......... Last edited by mik; 27-07-2015 at 02:46 PM. |

Don't forget the box of rags or tissues as well. Lol. After driving many vans, especially TD hiaces, could easily do with a power upgrade and better rear traction. Seeing as there are heaps around, I would think many drivers would jump at the chance of a quicker van. Would make driving around more fun, less boring and keep annoying soccer mum types away. |

i'd like to see a range of rwd engine fitted to mid size fords and holdens,
like a 4cyl, V6 and V8 Focus and Cruze, back to the roots of cortina and torana i think if they offered a factory v6 rwd mid sizer and have a tuning company fit the V8's it would keep the passion alive failing that a coyote ranger, ls3 collarado and a 2uz-fe hilux,

But the one Nissan should have done is 6.6 litre Duramax V8 turbodiesel, with 6-speed Allison automatic, into the GU. It works a treat - 450+hp pushing 2.5 tonnes and returing 12l/100km. And will break into the 12s on the quarter mile... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiMNotbCPoA

i struggle to see how a cruiser v8 diesel would fit into a hi lux. and the weight wood stuff any handling in the bends, probably under-steer heaps?

Yeah it's pretty heavy,375kg. But the 78-series body/chassis would be lighter, without the modern, safe steel body so the weight inequity would be more pronounced than it would be in the Lux. Also esp would reign in understeer. Handling is missing the point of the exercise, but then I guess this isn't America where they sell on "haulage" bragging rights even though they would never use it.
