how true i just had my dealing with one of those
usual bull...t that i saw straight through but i just ignored him..not worth calling him out on it

eg:
was never a coastal car and all freeway km's (i found it was bought on the on the south coast and lived all its life on the coast)

it was serviced in ACT because they liked the mechanic (dealer stamped the book to make it look like it had a service history) using a different colour pen each time gives that away

i'll fill the tank up for you....well that wasn't done

i'll fix the a/c......well i though that was done but it was just the 3deg ACT air temp coming out but back in sydney it blows 20 deg air....my fault i should have checked

but i still got it cheaper than i could privately and the next similar car is $4k more expensive

Can't argue any of that!

My favourite car ad while searching was on carsales, a private sale.

Golf GTI. Aftermarket race shocks, brakes, blah blah blah. Modded the hell out of it.

"Never thrashed, wife's daily driver."

Ahuh.
