Ford Aus Launches Teen driving School

This is a good move on the part of Ford Aus.

Drivers-ed needs to be a mandatory class in every high school from whenever the minimum age is in each state.

I thinks it's a cost factor. Teaching theory is cheap enough and should definitely be included in the national curriculum, but I don't see how schools will be able to teach everyone the practical aspects of driving, which is pretty much 70% of it.

It was through the dealerships but they did their schooling at ford. So they just laid off a lot of the instructors as well. So when I hear ford PR about how they're investing in the future I'm pretty cynical.

If cash strapped US schools can do it, why the hell can't better funded schools here do it.

Considering public schools are fully funded by the government here, most demand fees of several hundred dollars per year from parents per student. Redirect some of those funds towards the purchase of a couple of cars per school, hire a competent driving instructor to provide several classes per week and problem solved.
