Ford Factory closure, decommissioning and stripping out plant

Hey guys, can anybody shed any light on the status of the Ford Factory and where it is in regards to be stripped out and decommissioned. It's been very quiet since the closure with very little news on what has been going on. Any guys on here been working on pulling the factory apart.

I and everyone in this forum would like to know what is going on inside ford factory and there are numbers of employee still working inside so none and machining like CNC lathe ,CNC milling machine, Robot, Welding machine, assembly jig Press,Tools ,assembly jig,Metal Press, Paint equipment, etc are put up for sale or moving overseas or what ever ???? if they are dismantling the workshop stuffs so please someone kindy from Australia ford staff will able to explain and tell us what is going on inside the factory as least everyone will understand ??? ,

Perhaps history will repeat and we will see iterations of FG/FGX Falcon revisited again in South America for the next 20 odd years.

With this in mind, the equipment might likely to go to a right hand drive plant for any future expansion planned. Most probably Thailand.

This would be the ideal scenario. Imagine the jobs this would create and the improvement in automotive safety for a developing country like Argentina and the rest of South America.

Argentina already build the current Rangers they don't need 12 year old technology that the E8 Falcon Platform brings.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've always assumed the tooling is all out of date and not in line with any current new car platforms and the cost to get it up to date far outweighed the Potential Profits.

I would imagine some of us would love to own a little piece of Falcon-making equipment if we had the money, just to own something from the heritage.

Tooling die's are designed and built around individual vehicle platforms so it's specific in that instance. Small changes and improvements can be made, however it's cheaper to cast a new one for major design revisions.
They wear out in use, but are easily repaired when practical.

As for the tooling/maintenance equipment?.......I'd be assuming it would go to auction.....along with a stack of other fittings and fixtures from the factory..

Me too and if everyone in this ford forums were millionaires, then we might able to buy ford factory outright and then we can start manufacturing better quality falcons and territories car called Australian made falcon and keep USA ford out of Australia. cheers to all

Done searching and there are other closing factories in Melbourne who do make parts for ford, Holden,and Toyota are selling off all robot machine CNC tools ,etc are online auctions, or sale is on Graysonline

Yes but it wouldn't be Small changes, if they were to Build a Mondeo or even a Ranger.
back in 07 they had plans to Build the Focus here, at a cost of 300 Million + it was canned.
