He's running a tribute car to the huge 1,2, win at Bathurst in 1977 with the mighty XC coupe, (diregarding all the politics behind it).
We'll never see those heady days of racing anymore, Brocky by 6 laps, big rocks falling onto the track etc. Now there's barely a few seconds or less between 1st and 2nd. Anyway, love the look, shame it has 2 doors too many But someone in editorial needs a kick in the backside. The caption under the picture reads, "Mark Winterbottom with Allan Moffat and the 1977 Mustang livery. Picture: Mark Horsburgh" Don't know where the Mustang comes into it, the columnist is obviously a real car officianado. http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/mot...170c0e8faa9df0

Tickford are doing a limited edition Mustang with the same paint job.
The negative side of me says that PRA are doing the retro livery promoting their Mustang, and not Moffats 1977 victory. |
