Default New most 'gangsta' people mover revealed

Lads and Ladettes, its the news you've all been waiting for - the new Kia Carnival has been revealed!

Quote:
Kia is hoping SUV buyers will consider the new Carnival, which gains little metallic skid plates at the lower edges of the front and rear bumpers.

The original Kia Carnival made its debut in 1998 and since then more than two million examples of the people-mover have been sold worldwide.

The Kia Carnival has been Australia’s top-selling people-mover for more than half a decade. It currently commands a 55.8 per cent share of the sales segment (1622 sales to the end of May) and is trailed by the Honda Odyssey with just 456 sales and a 15.7 per cent market share.

I think the current model looks a bit more gangsta than the new one.

If I had to move people, they're a no brainer. SUV's are always a compromise with the third row and access can be equally bad. Much rather the van than a soft roader.

Agree - I've got love for the people mover and especially the current model of the Kia Carnival.

It's like the Chrysler 300 SRT of people movers, throw gang signs with your right hand and make animal balloons with your left.

I see a tiny bit of Ford Flex in that square wagon profile with different texture surfaces

I noticed that too. From the glass line up is straight Flex.

I liked the earlier Toyota Vellfires (the "sister" van of Alphard)...for a van. The ones around 2012 (later ones got ugly when they put Predator mouth on front of it).

Stock interior looked like after-market pimping...worth a quick look on google images

They deffinately are not the 'Shane, get in the damn van' taragos or starwagons we were used to in the early 90s. I know one family with 4 kids (should have learnt the first time) who have an earlier elgrand highway star. So not top spec, but middle row captains chairs, and the 3.5L v6, it puts in a decent effort to try and escape its own shaddow.

Its a good looking car and bloody practical, we usually hire one on trips and while I know I should have bought one instead of the Paj Sport our want for semi-off road won out.

They are not cheap, but worth it IMO.

If Chrysler/Dodge ever grew a brain cell and made a RHD version. I would vote the Durango SRT the best Gangsta mobile.

I hate SUVs but if I had the white picket fence and the 2.5 children in the USA I'd be having a hard time deciding between getting divorced or owning the Dodge Durango SRT

Yes, I hired on of those in Canada for 4 weeks, it was so awesome. Only the R/T but the 5.7 was enough to have fun and sounded sweeeeeeeeeet.

Should be an extra row of seats.

Brembro brakes
710 HP
Upgraded and non-farty exhaust
Bilstein suspension
Top speed 300 km/h
1/4 mile mid 11's
0-100 just over 3.5 seconds
Can tow 4 ton.
Mind you, these numbers are great on paper...

But old chassis, heavy, very pricey, juice drinker and only be available for one year.

New platform is coming 2022.

Rented a Durango last year.

Good bit of kit. Only a v6 but plenty of grunt.

Still preferred the suburban I hired a week later
