Does anyone have an idea on what this part is and what it suits. Was cleaning out the shed and came across it but for the life of me cannot work out what it is?

Guessing its 70's or 80's Capri, Escort etc out of England?

It’d be part of a Mark I Cortina glovebox lid catch assembly. It’s item 14 on the following:

EDIT: it may be from a TC Cortina...
