I'm currently driving one of the last of the SRT Core models and despite it missing so much, it's still a bloody fun car to drive.

Yet another reason to become an LHD country. We could just parasitically adopt the EU regulations and move on with life; more options and less missing out. The once-only cost of changeover is probably less than was expended keeping us “safe” during Coronamania.

I keep my eye on SRT's be it 300's or Cherokee's, luv them. Might buy a bargain one day, feck the fuel costs.

Another step towards Australia being a third world car market, dominated by agricultural pick up trucks and cheap Asian cars, with a few German luxury cars for the wealthy.

The Chrysler brand has two models. I'll say that again, two models!
https://www.chrysler.com/vehicle-selector.bmo.html The 300 sedan and the Pacifica people mover, body-styles not even remotely popular here in Australia. If the parent company (Stellantis) doesn't see fit to create models for the brand, Chrysler departing is a mere formality.

Surprise, Surprise who would have thought that keeping the same body style for all these years would result in dwindling sales.
Sales reflect the amount of effort a Car company puts in. How many people after owning a car for 5 years think. "You know what I think I will trade this and buy another new one exactly the same."

No real surprise. Always been a fan of the SRT 300 and Cherokees luxo barges.
Now you're looking at a Euro for anything close here. |

Each brand under the Stellantis portfolio was told they had ten years to get something under way. From what I've read, the intention with Chrysler is to take it in to one of their electric only brands and I understand there will be new models coming - albeit probably rebagded products from Peugeot/Citroen.

Damn
Having to work on these pieces of crap on a daily basis I would prefer they both go and take Audi and VW with them. They just dont seem to conform to the way other manufacturers assemble cars and think their parts are superior, F@*#en $3000 for a headlight, good riddance. |

Cant stand them and Audi, I hand them off to the apprentices to screw up, they are over engineered to the point that they are stupid, they will use 7 NASA designed brackets to hold something that just needs 1 then use 3 different Torx bits to hold it on?, what's wrong with a 10mm?, they are used throughout the car elsewhere to hold on wiring and carpet clips .
But Chrysler are in a league of there own, Jeep included, if they bulldozed them all into a pile I would pay to watch them burn Entirely my own opinion, others may differ |

VW make some nice looking and driving cars, but I hate them too. I want to like them but I can't.
I have a love hate relationship with Chrysler. I had one. Great car until it's no longer great. Mine was 6 years old when it started to become not great. |

yes the cherokee front headlinghts are $3k a piece, my bro is on his 3rd and loves them due to the bang for buck.
Hit a roo, good insurance job. Mind you what modern day high end headlight isn't that much today, let alone side mirrors. Got to say barring the early elect recalls this one he's had no probs. Thats the lottery with jeep, some had persistant issues some not. My wife had a Patriot, was very good till nearing the 100k mark, then the abs module went, what a pia getting that sorted But that made my call, sorry honey its going. She loved it. Yes there is some good das autos, always admired GTi's and came close getting the type R wagon last year or year before But I just couldn't bring myself in doing so went bimmer instead. Audis I'm looking to upgrade the bimmer next year, my bro inlaw has a beautiful looking 1yr old now A5 sline q but his previous one had gearbox issues by 50thou k's. $15k just out of wty hence why he upgraded. Common and a joke for such an expensive car.

It was a pity they never tried the Challenger here as I think it would have sold in similar numbers as the Mustang if prices were comparable.
Who wouldn't have considered a Hell Cat or Demon if they were available? Also, could never understand why they left the Charger nameplate absent from here when it still carries a lot of weight. Even though the car is a re-paneled 300 it would have also done better than the 300 and would have been as good as new model in a weird kind of way.

" Who wouldn't have considered a Hell Cat or Demon if they were available?" .
EVEN an 5.7 R/T would be good enough for me - Right Hand Drive , and not at extortionist prices for a dodge in Aus. i understand that the conversion joints need to make a buck too but well over 100k aud for one converted. it is a pity cyberwasp. |

Hi Guy's
I read that in the paper also that Chrysler is going and not making SRT V8 Chrysler anymore. I know in Queensland that the Police drive the Kia Stinger as a Highway Patrol Car. Maybe NSW Police will stick with there BMWs? |

And so it was with some surprise, that of the Big 3 it was Chrysler that outlasted their competitors in the RWD V8 affordable sedan market in Australia.
Outwit. Outlast. Outplay. The tribe has spoken.

I won't pretend to understand the machinations of the successive "Chrysler" bosses, but ultimately they have been through a somewhat tortuous rebranding.
The growth every maker has experienced in SUVs was taken by their Jeep brand, the growth in Crossovers by their Dodge brand, their (still popular) light trucks are branded as RAM, and performance as SRT. For whatever reason, the "Chrysler" brand has long been restricted to the type of cars that people are nolonger buying. |
