Default Do you think Ford do enough to push Ford/FPR merchandise?

Voting in the poll above..

Once thing I notice, is Holden are regularly promoting Holden apparel, like the Lion's Den merchandise store in Parramatta Westfield, whereas Ford, not much is done to promote these. The only real places you can get merchandise is Ford and Kmart/Target. But do you think the general public know this?

Yeah but there is a big difference between those that wear Holden or those that wear Ford.. You see Holden everywhere, bogans, kids, everyone. Ford has more class in that fewer people wear it.

Have to justify it somehow..

Personally i couldn't care if they promote it or not, i find most "supporter apparel" tacky anyway.
Suporter gear doesn't allways appeal to everyone either.
Look at the average punter (bogan) wearing HRT stuff and you'll see what i mean...

it would be nice if both HRT and the Ford stuff was a touch less gaudy in the BMW Williams or Mclaren or Ferrari mould.

My thoughts exactly, i searched the net everywhere to find a nice jacket that has Ford written on it, everything i found has tacky sponsors or raceteam emblems on them.

The closest ive come to buying "supporter gear" was when the wife bought a SLK230 and Mercedes had a range of F1 stuff that was very subtle and stylish compared to the gawdy "in your face" stuff The V8Supercar teams produce, maybe im getting old!!! :Reverend:
Ford used to make a more sophiscticated range didn't they?

True, HSV must be a 'povo's' dream come true. Im not saying all holden fans are from lower socio economic backgrounds but a quick trip to the western suburbs in Sydney (like Campbeltown / Minto) see's every man, wife ,dog, kid wearing some cheapo holden merchandise. Bearing in mind Coles Myer have a vested interest in pumping out as much K-Mart racing sh-t as they can get. Personally I prefer to see less common/ more classy FORD products.

I agree with Boss 540. Ford should have more classy and less common merchandise and apparel. In K-Mart you can buy Ford Racing products.

Basic design and it would be nice to maybe try and manufacture in Australia, rather than in some third world country.
Certianly nothing I have not seen many times before.

I promote my merchandise better than them, and I don't have a merchandise budget!

Definately keep it in Australia. So if it eats up into your profits, charge a bit more and then not everyone would have the merchandise like HRT have. Plus it would be a better product and last longer, made out of better materials.

My largest with the merchandise is its lack of depth. If you want GT-P, Pursuit, Super Pursuit or Tornado stuff you are basicly buggered.

There really is very little Typhoon stuff either.....

Race teams need to get their sponsors names out there a bit more and also merchandise is more important to the team budget. It really is important to have a full range of gear from the inexpensive to the upmarket. Not everyone can afford a $250 F1 shirt. Irrespective of that no Ford don't push their merchandise enough.

What I find either funny or sad (depending on how you look at it) is the fact that I have not been able to locate another pair of Ford runners like the ones I've got, and even the merchandise shop at FPR HQ have never seen them before. I want to get another pair just like them, but can't find them ANYWHERE. :(

I can provide a picture of them if anyone doesn't have a clue about what I'm talking about.

Two of my favourite subjects – Shopping and Ford!

There is heaps of good Ford merchandise out there you just have to be selective and persistent to find it. I have a few cool race shirts, a GT polo that is smart and even my 2 year old nephew has a few GT shirts (guess who bought him them!) The best place to buy quality merchandise is at the V8 races, I will admit that the stuff is pricey but you usually do pay a fair bit for brand name gear and the majority of the clothing is damn good quality.

Triple 8 have a pretty funky range and the stuff isn’t badly priced – check out the website.

I am almost 100% sure that Target stocked those shoes. Haven't seen them in about a year though.

I got mine from Kmart about a year ago, wasn't even looking for them, just went in needing new shoes and they were the first pair I saw, they were in my size, so I grabbed them.

Been looking for another pair ever since, nowhere has them, and they give me a funny look when I ask, and when I point to the pair I have on, they always say they've never seen any like that...
