pretty much standard 2litre, got air filter, carby a bit worked, 5 speed box
neeed to get some more money :P im only a student |

yeap same here I know what its like...im thinking of selling the falcon and getting a RS.
What is it like on fuel? Thats my main concern, no point swapping back if it drinks more than my falcon. Do you drive it daily?

Good effort Scort ... if you ever want to restore the original exterior striping the kits are available through Rare Spares. Also if you want details of the positions of the stripes, decals, badges and exterior black-outs I can send you some pics.

Scort. Your Esky looks really nice. I recently bought mine & it had a high pressure oil pump which after scavenging the sump of oil, broke it's drive shaft & did in the big end. Have replaced the Aussie motor with a slightly worked recon Pinto engine & dropped in a Cosworth 5 speed. Seems a little lean under power, having run it in for 3K so am having it diagnosed this week.
The mechanic has offered to ream out the primer jet on the standard D/D Weber, seems a heap less expensive than the $190 I've been quoted to recon it, but he recommends I retain the primary & main as opposed to changing the carby to 2 primaries. Better fuel consumption. I'm getting approx 8L/100klm but thjis will probably increase to 10L/100k after the reaming. The big advantage of the Pinto engine is that the head is set up for EFI conversion & reading the emails appears Wolf 3D is the way to go. Hope to post photos on the Forum soon but have it slightly lowered but the stance looks good. Since the 5sp was put in, I have a vibration at 80kph through to 100-110kph & the Box is spaced 20mm already. The installer is reluctant to lower it anymore so if anyone can offer a suggestion my personal email is sensei-07@hotmail.com Appreciate any feedback. Thanks Guys. |

Ronan> Mine has the alloy Supra 5-speed and no probs with vibration. Previously have also had a Celica steel case box in it. I was careful to keep the tailshaft angle close to the original. Also, I have a one piece tailshaft.
Check your yoke and pinion universals and also your centre bearing for excessive play. PS. email was sent with the pics you requested. |

Got any photos,do you mean a Sierra injected pinto 2ltr,and a sierra 5 speed as the cosworth 5 speed is a t5 box and unless your shell is an auto you would have very little hope of fitting one without major mods. Injection is the go most after market computers will run this setup,there is a complete setup on ebay now....... good luck with the carb make sure you tune it correctly after the jetting changes,and yes I would say your unis are worn. |
