AU classic rims & AU1 Fairmont (not Ghia, though) rims were both 6.5Jx15. You can fit a 225 to a 6.5" - same as a 7" Is that close enough?

yup, probably your only bet would be AU1 classic rims, possibly Futura rims, and maybe even steel rims from utes? AUII onwards they are all 16".

Steel rims are all 6.0Jx15 on an AU1.
Futura had 6.5Jx15 alloys as well.

Actually, the classis only had 6.0Jx15.

So it's down to the AU1 Futura or Fairmont.

012 - thanks, but I said for AU1.
The steelies for AU2 onwards are 6.5Jx16 with 215/60/16s.

The falcon S/XR6 rims for AU2 were 7Jx16 with 215/55/16s.

you're kidding right? EF's had 15x7 rims so why would AU go back to 6.5"?

Sorry B2F, but EFs had 6.0Jx15 standard on GLi and Futura. The XR standard rim was a 7.0Jx15 with the option of a 7.0Jx16

Ef Fairmont came with 6.5Jx15 standard.

So Ford didn't go back anywhere.

thanks guys.

thats a bugger! they have to be at least 7" wide because i'll be putting 26 x 8.5 E/T drags on them.

any one know of a car that came with 15x7", 5x114.3 PCD, approx +35 offset rims? steelies would be preferable.

Yeah I know, have had this argument before but I have the original EF steel wheels that came with my Futura still in the shed, and have measured them before - they are DEFINATELY 15X7. Whether they are special for some reason I dont know but they are what came with the car.

Oh.. you were quick on the edit button. When I first read your post, it didn't specify AU1. When I quoted and posted, it said AU1. Yes your right.. AU2/3 steelies are 16X6.5.

Only one I can find is 92-95 MR-2. 15X7, 5X114.3, offset is correct but CB is 60.1, about 10mm too small for the AU/BA. Sorry.

It's not what they measure - it's what was stamped into them. The 6" measurement is the inside measurement, not face to face.

The CB could be machined out to 70 - 71mm though.

if they measure 7" across from outer edge to outer edge they will be 15x6
you measure a rim from the inside where the bead sits not the outside.

Yep, that's what I was trying to say

but I don't think it was anywhere near as good as your explanation.
