Default Purple cop cars?

Driving home from school today, i was on the ring road where I saw a purple BF XR8 going in the opposite direction... Very nice car I thought to myself, until I saw the reflective police livery on the side! There were no lights on top, but it was still a marked police car... strange...

I know there are the blueprint BA cop cars, but they are still a full marked cop car.

Anyone know about these new police vehicles? or what the point of a half marked/ half undercover police car is?

Anyway, I found it mildly amusing....

Yes I saw a fully marked purple XR8 cop car driving through Geelong a few weeks ago.
It looked crap.

Much to the distaste of the Vic Pol TMU members these cars are a comprimise between having Q cars and marked cars on the road. Obviously it is a lot easier to catch offenders in Q cars but Force Command wishes to maintain the fantasy that there are more police than ever.

There's all the info and pics you need.. it was probably a purple BA XR8.. as there's one based in the Geelong area.

There's a yellow one in Bendigo.

I actually think that Purple XR looks good. Makes a change from your Heron White Commo SS.

Is that a MK2 or a BF??

The non-white cars are highway patrol. Basically used for pursuits, etc. They are usually the ones hidden 500 meters after a booze bus.

Eh, not quite! They were designed by a TMU member from Bendigo!

what happened to the days where cop cars were white with lights?

it seems there must be more unmarked police cars than marked... they are more interested in money than road safety
