Default Extractors

Hello all,

Well I found out from Ford Insure that I am only allow to Fit a pair of extractors to my AU XR6II but not the full exhaust so I am looking at 4480's or JMM street fighters is there much diff between the two?

What you all recon?

Depends who you talk to.

JMM's have the rep, his race series would of been the ultimate choice, but between street fighters and paccies, go the paccies, will do the same for cheaper.

My question would be if the extractors would do any good on a stock exhaust system?

The exhaust on the XR's is a pretty free flowing system, the manifold is their biggest downfall. It would really depend on what else is done to the engine before you would need to look at the rest of the exhaust.

Just make sure that whoever does it for you moves the cat further back when they make up the new join.

I have a set of 4480's on an EL and I am pretty happy with them, I might just go with the pacies?

JMM dont make race series anymore but Pacy Comps are similar. Either that or the JMM Streetfighter series, also very good.

Now that the JMM Race headers are no more though the Pacy Comps would be my choice.. if they were no more then the streetfighters in cost.

If it's a HP, go for headers, the stock Forte jobs aren't that flash. If it's VCT, then you've already got better headers, so it's whether you think the cost/insurance etc is worth it without changing from the cat back...

Factory HP and VCT headers and exhaust are identical from the cat forward Mark..

No idea, last I heard they still didnt have them nor had any idea when they were getting them again if ever.
Since then I have moved on from JMM so dont have a clue what they are doing anymore. They dont work on my car now nor do I have anything to do with them at all.

Personally, I'd get a Cat-Back exhaust, rather than Headers.

Get the note + small power increase.

I wasnt waiting around for the excellent Race series headers that still havent come back to my understanding. I have streetfighters but PH4480's are very close performance wise.

after the cat its all different but Ford are tight.. they didnt bother designing decent headers for any of the I6's and Tickford didnt either. Both the HP And VCT should have got extractors standard.. instead they got forte gear.

For that we can again blame the AUI XR6 VCT for the budget blowouts.

I have already been insured for cam, head, extractors, 2.5 system, cold air intake, chip & modified suspension. Only half has been done. Call Just Car & shop around.

Nothing wrong with Forte's, : good 4x4 ride height & the pathetic exhaust manifold means when you put extractors on you notice the difference!

I have already done cat back 2.5 redback due to the stock one rusting out and Ford wanting about $800 smackas for the rear section only
Got the note but have noticed no power increase whatsoever so it must have been very small
Thats why I am being cautious with my header choice cause from what I have read you can even go backwards with wrong headers on VCT
I am now back to square 1
