Man.... Talk about crazy. That guy knew how to lose his license in style.
I'm glad I wasn't out driving on the same stretch of road he was on.

the guy who was doing 180 in a 60 zone was from eltham i recall.......on station street in box hill if any of you know the area.
not sure of the other guy doin 250 tho

i live in eltham and there was a bloke who lived 3 doors up from me was doin 120 in a 60 zone through elthams main rd. police chased him for about 5 minutes until he decided to outsmart the cops and detour his way back home. police questioned a man who witnessed the chase and eventually he was caught.
goes to show you cant outsmart the cops.

.......there sure are sum d!ckeads in this world

here's the link to the story in the Herald Sun of the guy doing 250kmh, police chased for 109 kms, talk about persistent, am glad to see they didn't call it off and actually caught this guy. Is also a mention of the other guy doing 180kmh.

Well doing 180 was driving a xr8. Do people think its bad rep for our v8 drivers having that power. Knowing stuff like this government will want limits on v8 next

I noticed the guy doing 250 was in a bmw, on p plates i'm assuming. Is a good indication of how well the power to weight laws are working in Victoria, lol. you can't driva an xr8 thats limited to 200kmh but you can drive a bmw that will let you pull another 50kmh.

Lol yer funny that. You cant drive a xr8 with a 260kw motor but you can go and by a 4cylinder ricer and do it to 400kw at the rear wheel and keep at it

I dont think it makes V8's look bad. I had a N/A VL Commodore 5 speed that could do 200Km/h and its a 6cylinder ИИИИbox

Put them both in jail.
Confiscate the cars and auction them of with money going to TAC.
Tools like this give enthusiasts a bad name.
Just proves that power to weight has nothing to do with it!

I dont see anything about them being enthusiasts? Just two guys going way too fast (ESP the 180kmh through box hill.)

How cool would it be having a infringement notice reading 250kmh though hehe.
I remember there was a guy with an XR8 at a ford day or soemthing that had a fake one.

Insane speeds on public roads are dangerous but i suppose a lot of us do it without really thinking about it when it's too late.

As the linked story shows, it was a 20 y.o. in a BMW with an 18 y.o. female passenger. Doesn't mention the car was stolen so unless he's a drug dealer or a lotto winner, or an incredibely successful high achiever that has worked 100 hour weeks all at overtime rates, then he most likely had a borrowed car (eg. parents) and he should have been driving with p plates, whether he did is another story. And you don't get many mid aged drivers caught at these rediculous speeds on public roads.

We all say how dangerous it is, and it's pretty bloody stupid (but not nearly as stupid as running from the police), but we all know what it feels like when adrenaline kicks in when driving a powerfull car (or bike).

It's the same story with motorbikes.
None of us bike riders are angels (as far as laws are concerned), but there is a time and a place.

It's the idiots who choose to speed/thrash, in built up area's that may cause danger to other people who end up giving us all a bad name.

"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" is the saying, isn't it?

Guy was caught out here in Sydney a week and a half ago.

145km/h in a 60km/h zone, was involved in street racing.

Car confiscated(street racing) and being sold at auction, $1900 fine and 1 year disqualification of licence. Oh and it was his parents car aswell.

Before anyone says it, he was NOT a P-plater.
