Well anyone who doesnt should see where i take 4wd and what i do with them. I guarranty you that if you want a good off road 4wd go for a landcruiser ute first, then a wagon second. Most wagons still aint the best for off road conditions

SWB= Good for 4wd

That being said, if someone gave me a Navigator (black of course) id take it. Certainly got a real imposing style bit like the Range Rover ,but rarer.

Anyone know what v8 is in it?

And you base this on what?? I have owned several Jeeps over the years ( even took one around OZ ) and i would rather own one of them than some models of Landcruiser's or one of theses buckets of sh11t.

I think he is refering to the current ones. The old ones go forever, unlike the new ones.

I knew someone that thought his Jeep would do the same as the ones in the adds. lol it didn't....... :P

Lincoln, always great vehicles.

Similar to our Barra220 with an A6.

I'd get one of them or even a Caddy Escalade and dump it on some big chromes, if I was rich enough. Kind of defeats the purpose but then again how many people do you see driving them for the sheer size and not for actual off road.

Not on rock hillclimbs ... too bouncy ... and can easily be rolled over backwards due to weight transfer ... a LWB is better in that respect. Have seen many a shortie roll corner over corner on decent rock climbs.

I will testify to Jeeps being crap off road too, on a convoy 4x4 trip we went on, there was a 4.7 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and it got bogged so many times, much more than any other car there, didnt take much to do it either, it was so annoying, it was also the one that scraped the bottom the most, it was the one that was wanting least to be scratched, - it really was a liability! And when we were all trying to rally on road, the Jeep was the first and only to do a 180 spin out unintentionally, where the plastic bumper was wrecked on a minor impact.... I am supposed to believe that car is any good?

What about the driver. Granted they are pretty soft compared to the old Jeeps, especially the Cherokee, but they aren't as bad as a lot of stuff out there.

As for the Lincon, what a waste of space, just another piece of material wealth the mindless sheep can get their hands on to try and imitate those useless mainstream rap stars.

yes the driver can push the vehicle to it's limits and use momentum effectively, but I am telling you, the Jeep SUCKS off road, even at the tiny weeny track at the motorshow, the new Jeep was scraping - seriously that level of off roading is nothing -
As for the Navigator, as long as we realize what it is good for, it's a good highway cruiser, interstater, luxury vehicle which is also good for towing. It's not an off-road machine, but does have it's good points. Maybe that's all the Jeep is good for too- but between the jeep and discovery 3, its no contest, the Discovery 3 is a much better vehicle all round

Here's some photos of one I hired last year in the U.S.A. I picked it up in L.A, then went to Vegas and Grand Canyon. The car was speed limited to 100 MPH. I got around 14 - 17 MPG, I wasn't taking it easy.

The new Grand Cherokee is much better than the old turd, especially with the Merc Turbo Diesel, which ИИИИs on everything from Japan. Same torque as the Hemi and half the consumption!
Pprobably only bettered by the 750Nm V10 TDi Touareg.

I went and had a look at the Navigator. Price $118k to $132k, depending on specification. Base or Ultimo. Ultimo is very, very nice. But its HUGE!! makes a Territory look like a RAV 4 !!!
Ultimo would be on my shopping list, when I win LOTTO.
Same price as a Toyota Lexus, Range Rover , X5 etc. Be a bugger to park etc. But you would be king of the road.!!!
