Yep, one mean car, sold for approx 850,000UK pounds. TopGear did a fantastic episode on it (Involved racing the Buggati Veyron against a light 2 person air plane from Italy to London - UK, must see episode).
It puts out insane power and speed.

5 second delay on start up allows "fuel to be sprayed into each of the 16 cylinders and to prime the engine internals with oil. The quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine produces a mammoth 736kW (or 1001 horsepower in old figures) so it needs a little TLC."
lol i love it how it compares with a toyota echo: We're in the world's fastest car but anyone in a Toyota Echo can beat you out of a car park.

European manufacturers need to stop quoting German Pfederstarke as Brake Horsepower, it's a different measurement.
Veyron's got 987bhp, that's 1001 PS, or 736kW. Take your pick, it all means the same thing. What I like though is the torque curve... 1250Nm @ 2200-5500rpm, 736kW @ 6000rpm, 6600rpm redline.
