A few weeks ago I had the unfortunate pleasure of the front of my car coming into contact with an embankment at a decent speed.
The result. Luckily I had bought a Team Poly Smart Bar about 3 monnths ago with the intention of getting it colour coded and fitting it. I sped up the process and got it back today. I'm shocked as it looks really good. The normal colours are Black, White and Red. This sucker looks great in meteorite with the big metallic, and before you say. I got the rear section of the bar where the headlights project painted in matt black. Not bad for $300 purchase from wreckers and $240 painting. What do you think? More pics of the bar fitted when I get the wiring done for the extra indicators and spotties.

Look much better when it is colour coded ... will be interesting to see when it is mounted to the car ... you will have custom eyelids

Well, Bar is due to go on this weekend, but I have to move my project valiant and old donor car from old house sat, then going to hillclimb event sunday so it might be a while.
Might take off old bar and run wires in spare time. I will be posting pics once it gets on there, it's hard to describe how much better the bar is in the colour as opposed to dodgy white. As for the embankment. I was cruising about 50 through the hills in the rain and hit someones driveway that had washed out onto the bend. Wasn't a big big hit, chassis fine but the bar didn't like it. |

Hey there boys. I knwo it's been a while since I said I'd put this new bar on, and technically I did ages ago, just moving and changing job and spending half my life locked up with shady characters have limited my net access.
Here are some recent "average" shots. More will be forthcoming, but I think you'll agree it suits the car really well.

I think it's because they are designed to take some of the force if you mow down a pedestrian - correct me if i'm wrong

More along the lines of their ability to "pop" back into shape if they are dented at low speds.
They are of a blow moulded polycarbonate construction. I like the idea of it popping out if I should even hit something (knock on wood) but I may have to repaint it. |

No probs stiddy. I've done it to skip the XR or T series look... and to stand out.
I am planning to rip out the headlights, paint the bezel and possibly tint the indicator section to remove as much of the reflective section as possible. will hopefully tidy up the lines. It's on the back burner a bit tho. I have a new compressor and sander for my val, and I am also researching my future toy. Don't ask what cos I don't know either LOL. |
