Default Holden's AU disaster?

Now I love my AUIII, but I also know how badly it fared with the buying public, mainly for its looks. Ladies and gentlemen, it is now Holden's turn:

Hmmm. from those pics it still looks like a typical commodore, nothing strikes me as a major change in design. I personally think the VY looks quite crap, depending on the lights etc on this new commodore, i assume it will be equally as un-inspiring.

Coudln't agree more, unfortunately that doesn't help Ford sell cars.
until Holden make a downright ugly car, that even one eyes holden fans struggle to like, Ford will have a massive struggle to outsell Holden.
In the mean time we get great cars and know it.

Dont the media portray them and the public view as an Aussie company that bought us the FJ and its carried on from there.

Ford was not an original Australian company.

I reckon it looks alright. As someone said, a pumped up Vectra, and I quite like the look of the Vectra.

It looks good i think, and will seriously give Ford a hard time until the next model is released...

As for it being a disaster like the AU only Mitsubishi makes those kind of mistakes...

I was having a look at the shots in the cars guide and turned the page and the VE and the 380 look the same from the a to c pillar. The doorhandles are alike even. There are some very small changes between the two but I could swear it was the same car.

I actually hired an VY Commodore up in byron bay not so long ago. Now i don't really love the car anyway from a visual perspective, but the car was HORRENDOUS to drive... the handling was awful. I had to really concentrate to keep the car in line, especially around 100km/h corners on the freeways. Not to mention all these little lights and beeps going off at you the whole time... before this i was merely ford biased, now i have a REAL reason never to buy a holden. I genuinely hated driving that boat. Interior was very average too...

mazda , holden , ford , mitsbishi etc etc..... whichever - whatever - Even if that was a new ford i'de be calling it ugly ! - those crummydores are just getting worse and worse and worse imo , obviously they caught on that the last crummydores looked rubbish - and thus why this model looks like another brand car alltogether !.
Gee the last 1 looked like a magna , this 1 looks like a Vectra , what next ! ?

Yuck , yuck & yuck ! :

Another thumbs down for holden imo - which makes me all the happier too that i purchased another ford .

Obviously some people are gonna like it though - each to their own :togo:

spotted a new 530 beemer yday and nearly identical to the pict in the paper specially the angle of the back door and their shape as well as guards rear window and bootline.dosnt matter how much they copy other cars the journos will still say they are the most innovative and australian(what crap they are no more australian than any other company.and they have dropped the holden name off most of their stuff and just use GM)

At the time they came out the AU's were downright ugly but I think they were just ahead of their time because they look damn good today. Except for a lot of the grills.

That VE doesn't look fantastic but it is about time they updated the look.
