Default Normal and XR6 heads...

How much of a difference is there between a normal AU I6 Intech head compared with an AU XR6 head?

Also, just to confirm, they bolt straight up to the same block, right?

They bolt straight up, but it's mainly the cam that is different. Unlike the E-Series, there was hardly any difference in the heads for the AU & AU XRs.

Quote:
The AU heads are all the same. same valves and ports and chambers and compression.

The XR6 and VCT have different cams ecu programs and thats all.

Mod your own head it will be better and cheaper.
The only difference, is that they have a "T" on the front of the head.

So it's the ECU & Cam & Fuel System that give the XRs more power over the Falcons.

It seems the biggest difference is the cam guys. While the standard au cam has more exhaust lift than the xr model. But as many of us know the most important is intake. The intake lift of the xr 6 cams is heaps bigger than standard cam.I think this is why when a good exhaust is addedd and tuned properly that those things fly.
