Can you adjust headlights in an AU?

I was flashed by other morons all weekend who think my low beam are my high beam.

I do have the Phillips White Light globes in.

Yes you can ... there are 2 adjustors on the back of the headlight.
The Dok had a great link on how to .... I think it was put in the Territory section.
I'll dig it up for you.

According to that guide, I'm all good. I made sure of that when I put the new globes in.

Why people "high beam" me to dip my lights has me buggered. There's nothing wrong with the positioning of the lights, at the moment, I wait until they come right up to me, then flash 'em with the high beam, which are also Phillips White Light.

Yes, this does annoy me no end.

Yeah I had someone do it to me the other day ... and I am only using Narva Plus 50s. although I had just come over a crest ... and the top of the beam was over the driver's vision ... they decided to flash me late ... but I was ready for that .... and I got them back immediately before they passed me.

I don't think they'll try that one again to someone else.

My last glimpse of them was the entire interior lit up white ... and his right arm flicked up to cover his face ... I also notice him squint in pain as well).

Some driver's out there just cannot handle "normal headlight" and have a whinge about it ... even when you headlights are aligned correctly ... and they have to flash you for it ... it's these people that should be on the road at night in the first place.

If you have superlows or lwer in the back of your car, the front may be sitting a little higher than the standard front/rear angle of the car from factory, which may be causing your headlights to point up slightly. Given that the AU has some of the best factory lighting in a modern car, the increased up angle (even though only slight) may be enough to cause dazzle to other drivers. I had this problem with my XR, and reinstalling the lows in the rear has sorted that problem. (Plus the tree tops no longer get lit up)

I was actually talking about this problem at work, and someone else mentioned that it could be that.

I'm going to measure from the ground to the top of the wheel and see what happens there. I've got a funny feeling that it sits lower in the back, in which case I'll be getting some leaf springs replaced.

I've found other AU's particularly bad in this respect and have been flashed by oncomers when driving mine quite a lot... tells me one thing, it's something about AU lights that is harsher on the eyes so I certainly dont go 'punishing' the people who flash me to let me know they think I've got my high beams on still. Instead I give them a short flash of my highs to let them know I am on lows already.

The main direction of the lights is probably 'correctly aligned' but perhaps the very unusual shape of the lights is at fault?

This (dazzle) is a real problem for the AU (non XRs mostly), the headlight has an awesome reflector (in size & output) & oncoming drivers need only catch a glimpse of the AU either turning or wallowing & assume that high beam is on, Taxi's are notoriously annoying for this, (probably due to sagging suspension).
If in doubt, I generally advise people to adjust them down a notch or 2.
