Default xr6 custom turbo

Hey guys,
I'm just wondering what size turbo and amount of boost is recommended for a stock standard AU XR6. :hihi:

I'm just getting a garrett TO4E for now and will be running 6psi until a grenade my stock EF 4.0. Then I'll build a decent bottom end with forgies so I can up the boost and add a bit of nitrous to get me off the line. But I'm no expert. Best talk to someone like Geoff at snort performance. I'm starting a similar project myself later this month.

With no other mods, 5-6 psi is safe. If you put in a decompression plate, you could go up to about 8, but not much more than that without some serious work (and $$$$). Mal's AU XR6 Turbo had heaps done to the motor (apparently), and even it couldn't cope with the 14+ psi he threw at it.

6psi will get you aroubd 150-160 rwkw (up from 105rwkw odd stock)

GT35/40 turbo seems to be the popular choice as does the T04e and z, you can run upto 8-9psi on a stock AU motor provided the engine management and fuel system is looked after.. with a decomp plate they can be pushed to around the 12psi range.
and expect around the 200-220rwkw mark or 8-9psi on a well set up kit.

If your not running engine management system and havent done much to the fuel system.. you can run 5psi MAX and only get around 150ish rwkw like JC has said.
