I wouldn't bother changing the colour to a different shade of white myself. Slam it and get the engine going. Colour code the door handles, ditch the pin stripe and get clear repeators and it will looks nuts I think.

I vote for : None of the above.
I'd lower it (not with airbags) a little, remove the mudflaps, and maybe re-do the window tint (it looks to be going slightly purple from age). Otherwise it's a sweet cruiser. |

not interested in lowering it. not much of a cruiser if it has a rough ride.
the mudflaps probably should go, dont really want mega stonechips though. |

my income aint that high, still only going to be just over $300 pw. its going to take me at least 4-5 months just to save the 2 grand. saving for the future aint a priority, getting through my apprenticeship is. I need a short term goal to save for.

I went the cam and engine option but a nice lowering job, new tint and wheels would be a sweet choice for second.

well the engine aint stock so its not like its completely slow. ported E7 heads and HO manifold, FMS Underdrive pullies, 70mm Maf, genie extractors and dual exhaust.
the wheels arnt a priority, i am reasonably happy with my polished 15s for now. will have to upgrade to at least some wider tyres eventually though. |

I can't remember, have you got a zorst on the Love Boat yet? I'd do that with the money if you haven't. You'll never listen to the radio again
If you have a nice system then it's easy, go the cam, heads and manifold. And please don't line me up ;)

Not much point stroking it with E7 heads and HO manifolds though.

Ok exhaust system is done, I really should read threads from the start.
save alittle extra & get the heads done first, followed by manifold & cam mate.

If I had that car, I wouldn't bother with performance mods. It's a very sweet looking car and with a few finishing touches could be a real stunner. If it were me, I'm lose the pinstripe, ditch the mud flaps, get new tint, lower it on lows (definately not superlows on that car) and if it needs any minor work done under the car (ball joints, bushes, etc.) I'd get that done, just makes it a pleasure to drive. With any left over money I'd drop it off at a good detailers and tell them to give it a cut & polish and tidy up the interior. Before you know it, you have a very nice looking car that's a joy to be in and an absolute pleasure to drive.
That's just my opinion ;) |

I agree with the above, but you've just about ruled out everything else I would suggest like lowering and a big set of rims, so might as well do the engine work.
Or save the cash for the next one, as you'll never see any money from anything you plan to sell with the car that you have modified (well, very little of it). Thats why big rims are good, they can follow you to your next car or be sold later if need be, with little hassle! Tim |

i'd make it look tough. lowered, big rims. dark tints. you're a mechanic, so all the engine work can be done whenever...
edit...i wouldnt be spraying it white...if you're gonna spray it, get a mad color |

Go the engine mods barry - it's gotta be done. She looks sweet in her natural beauty - what could be cooler than tearing off in a storm of windsor powered noise in something that looks so sweet and innocent? Keep the mods relatively 'bolt on' and they can accompany you to the next car (which will undoubtedly be windsor powered, lol) ;)
As you mentioned - you obviously know a thing or two about engine work, modding your engine up is gonna do more for your enjoyment/experience than putting on a set of fully-sik rims. But hey - go with the gut feel. Ya work hard for the money so blow... err.. spend it on whatever floats ya boat <----pardon the pun. That's my philosophy anyways.
