Default Buyer Beware

This is just a warning to anybody looking to buy a second-hand BA mk2 F6 Tornado, it has a build number 83 (vin 6fpaaajgcm5r74405) in menace with white bonnet stripes. It is the car refered to in Grrr (http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=58340) in the club section of FPV & XR Owners Club of Qld.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

This is just a message to forewarn people.

Cheers
Drew & Schaz

Definitely be careful of this one if you are in the market for a second hand Tornado, Drew and Shaz had nothing but problems with it.
Drew you should post up the pic of the number plate that it is going to be sold with just so people know what plate to look out for.

We do have the new rego. We were advised to only post the information we had while we were in possession of the car (vin & build). If people want it then they can PM me.

One of the dealers drove it today and rang us this morning, he said he now understands why we wanted rid of it.

if you go to the thread, there is a list of 26 items, and they were after the 4 times it was back for warranty repairs.

So they gave you a new one? I hope they gave you an 06 Plate.

Seems like Ford actually came good for once...

it wasn't fpv or ford who came to the party, it was the dealership who put up 90% of the replacement costs. They have done nothing but be very helpful in this whole situation.

We loved the ute, we would have loved to have kept the ute, we just put this up so that people are aware that there is a lemon out there. My wife stopped wanting to drive it after a while (and it was usually a fight to get to drive it on weekends - she always wanted to be behind the wheel).

In the less than 12 months we owned it, it spent 4 of those months off the road getting warranty repairs. It was not driven hard, it did some regular highway drives with my wife usually driving, only "hard" driving it had was on drive day which was part of the "purchasing a fpv" package.
