I think most people try to argue the whole parking fine thing..but not many win..
It is a case of you know the rules, it is your responsibility not to forget and in case you do, the council will ensure to remind you for next time e Had a couple parking fines.. I did win one but that was because my brother and his wife took pics of where I was parked whilst the guy was printing the fine out.. I was 2 cm over the little no no line and that was because a council car was taking up two parks partially... So guess what.. your lowering waits and you now can pick out a pot hole and when it is fixed you can say to everyone, 'that's my money that paid for that' :

My wife got one a few years ago and "technically" see had done the wrong thing but I argued the case in a letter to the council and they withdrew the fine. She parked in a carpark at the beach that was reserved for cars with trailers only (she didn't have a trailer). It was middle of the week, middle of winter and not one spot was being used for trailer parking. They saw fit to book her anyway. I wrote a letter explaining that she had 2 young kids with her and they were using the playground next to the carpark.
The fine was taken back!!! That's one for common sense!! Matty
