Default TS50 extractors

This may sound dumb but is there any difference between factory ts50 headers and AU2 XR8 headers ?...............cheers

Mate, it's a good question. I think for T1 & T2, they are the same. Pretty sure the T3 used HM headers, which were better than the factory ones, but not as good as Paccies or Hurricane Headers. The T3 used ceramic coated 4-1 HM headers.

Here's a comparison of the stockies to the T2 ones. I think the only difference in the exhausts between the XR & T-Series is the cats, mufflers & tail piece but I could be wrong.


Here is how Tickford described the T2 exhaust
Exhaust
Ceramic coated tubular exhaust manifolds are combined with 1.8 litre high flow catalysts. Catalyst inlet and outlets are 64mm in diameter.

The original tubular manifold is shown for comparison.

Heat Shields are fitted to the front engine mountings.

Mufflers
Unique triflow mufflers are used to meet noise requirements (XR8 uses straight through mufflers)

Exhaust Outlets
Downward pointing twin exhaust outlets are discretly positioned behind the rear bumper panel.

This free flowing exhaust system provides a subtle V8 feedback to the driver. This is in keeping with the whole environment and sophistication of the vehicle.

Interesting..........there's a set going cheap on trademe over here and was wondering if they might be worth looking into..........first off i'll ask the bloke if they are off T3....cheers

T1 TE50 also ceramic coated ! My understanding is that the 220Kw motors had the bigger cats, but headers were the same as 200Kw (cats integral with headers though..) Dunno about the 250Kw ones.
Read the brochures section - it should tell what the go is !

I think the ceramic coating in this case was more for emissions then anything else, cats need to be hot to work so it helped transfer the heat that would otherwise wind up in the engine bay with the more fruity pipe work.
