This arvo at oran park I just had three hot laps with Jason Bright in the FPR V8 supercar. Bloody amazing it was. The braking, the cornering, the speed of the thing was all incredible. The money they spend on the things was also staggering, Jason reckons they spend 1.5 million on engine development every year!
FPR is sending me photos in a few days, I'll skyte a bit more then too! Jealous? Well you all oughta be!!! |

I ticked one dream off my list when I got to drive a Porsche GT3 round Wakefield Park. Next on my list is a ride in a V8Supercar. How was it over the dog-leg (the 2nd last corner) mate? Its a great bit of track!! It was frightening enough driving a bog stock XR6T at 130+ through there. Now, you have lived!!!

I've had a V8 Supercar ride as well, in December 2000 at Calder with SBR. They were doing ride days and I was lucky enough to win a lap with Marcos Ambrose who had just joined SBR. It was wild, an unforgettable experience. I was buzzing for weeks afterwards.

I'm still buzzing now, it was hard to comprehend the sheer speed of the car, it all happened so fast. One second you are on the start of the straight then it seems like a coup;le of seconds later your'e nearly at the end of the straight thinking "when is he gonna stop?" and then he stands it on it's nose almost right at the entry of the corner and you feel like you will slide off and crash, then he's hooking in and flat on the gas again! There was no hesitation at all , it was like flat out acceleration, flat out on the brakes and amazing g forces around the corners.
I was very lucky to score the ride from my girlfriend who won it in an FHM magasine competition. |
