Default 2 Questions on MK1 Escorts (Newbie)

What is the weight difference from Aussie Mk1 and Mk2 2 door shells?
What was the date split of last MK1 2 Door shells made with different shock mounts?.From when to when?....(Just going on what I am reading...trying to make a MK1 RS2000 copy 2 door) I am a newbie so be gentle.
Thanks
R

Mk2's are about 75-100kg heavier than Mk1's.. Thats the complete car not just the shell though..

The upright shock's came in mid to late '73 i think until the start of Mk2. although I can't remember the exact month.

Weight difference depends on the driver.
Also they vary quite a bit depending on engine/2dr/4dr/van etc.
Lightest is a Mk 1 1100 van - under 800kg to Heaviest - Mk 2 RS2000 about 980kg

Yep thats true too.

Now that i've found my listings.. (all these are official Ford figures)

MkI 2Dr Deluxe = 798kg
MkI 4dr & T/C = 825kg
MkI RS2000 = 891kg
MkII 2Dr 1600 = 925Kg
MkII 2Dr 2000 = 955kg
MkII 4Dr 1600 = 948kg
MKII 4Dr 2000 = 978kg
MkII Ghia 1600 = 973kg
MkII Ghia 2000 = 1003kg

Actually a bit more than I thought it was!

Can imagine the MkII RS2000's to add 30+ kg too because of the heavy seats and nose section

I can catogorically state that the RS headlight mounting brackets, surrounds etc weighs over 7kg.....I've just sent a set to Perth and cost a fortune. I've heard the body-deadener/sound proofing can weigh upto 10kg alone.
