First disconnect the battery for safety, you will be removing the air bag.
Look at either side of steering wheel behind at the back around the horn pad area, you will see 2 little covers, pop them out, now use a 10mm socket, although in AU i think they went to torx or security torx bits, in any event undo them. now remove the airbag. nect you can see the srews holding the cruise buttons on, remove them and take the switches out.

it shouldn't as long as you be careful and take your time, there are quite few members on here who have done it multiple times without anything happening, just make sure you disconnect the battery
oh and by the way, welcome to the forums |

before you do it, check your brake lights. If the cruise stops working its usually because a brake light is out or the switch on the brake pedal is stuck on. Might save you a bit of hassles in the long run.

i guess i should add, they are 5 sided t30 torx bolts, which people have been having quite a bit of trouble getting hold of, so depending on where you are, you may be able to borrow/use one at someone's house...i'm pretty sure FTG auto salvage in melbourne let people use theirs...albeit in their carpark where they can keep an eye on you lol
