Just had the AU Fairmont Ghia converted to LPG...runs well but when on LPG the solenoid makes a ticking noise. Most noticed when at the lights etc.
For those of you with your AU on LPG gas do you hear this as well i.e. is it normal to hear the solenoid or could it be faulty? Also does the engine run rougher with LPG compared with unleaded petrol? Last edited by sednwol; 22-12-2006 at 09:50 AM. |

There is a little black canister that has 2 vacuum hoses going to it ..
1 hose is vacuum for the valve and the other goes to the converter.. That little black thing will be screwed to your converter.. When it is and you are on gas you willl here it tick as the sound is Amped from the converter. undo the screw and move that control valve off the converter and cable tie it to the hose or a wireing loom . if you put it to any hard (solid) part then you will still hear it but the sound will be less. I cable tie mine to a wireing loom.. See how that goes and post back. Cheers |
