Not sure I'm reading your post right but if you're talking about putting another seat behind the passenger one, there's no chance in hell it'll fit or be legal. The only way I can think of doing it is to put a dicky seat in the middle, but even that will be tricky to do without the car being column shift auto.

I have seen a BA XR8 Ute in Canberra with a seat mounted on top of (or inplace of) the centre console. It was a floor shift manual with the standard console all the way to where the lid is (or thereabouts). It was ADR compliant and looked pretty schmick too if you're into that kind of mod.

There are afew AU taxis that are column shift and have dickie seat in the middle of the two front seats. I think you would have a slim to none chance of trying to find that type of taxi at a wreckers.
As for how would you do it. I dont know.

Come to think of it there was a Pursuit 250 for sale on the forums which had a similar mod done to it. I know it was sold and the thread was moved but I might try to dig it up and see if it has any info.

Thanks for digging up the photos B2tf now Im excited on getting the same setup.
I was thinking of putting a seat similar to that you find in the toyota hilux space cab behind the passenger seat. But now that i have seen the photos of the Pursuit 250 Im sold, that third seat in between the buckets looks hot. My UTE is a tbar auto.Must have this mod, were and how do I go about aquiring this?

In the post I got those photos from, all that was said was that the dealer had it done to the car before the guy picked it up, he didnt have any details for a trimmer etc who might have done the work.
I guess a good place to start would be an auto upholsterers, if they don't do it they may know who does.
