Default Radiator low on fluid

Hi Guys I'm buying an au series 3 xr6 ute soon (deposit paid for) and i noticed the radiator fluid was a bit low. I'm wondering if this is a comen problem with AU's and about how much it would cost to fix or whether it's just more chance of the owner not filling it up.

id be getting it to a local reputable mechanic before i pay any more money. get the system leak checked completly, just to be sure its just a case of the previous owner not taking much care of the xr6. you dont want to pay for it only to find that the head is cracked and the dealer doesnt want to know about it.

I oppend my overflow tank fo rthe first time since I bought my car last weekend. Ive had it a year and 4 months, and driven 38 000k's, and it hasnt used a drop of the fluid. I just topped it up with about 500 ml's, but thats what it was like when I got it.

Yeah I'd definitely be wary. It could just be a case of it being low, but i have never had to really top up either of my cars in several years. As AU2 said, it'd probably be a good idea to get the cooling system pressure checked just in case. Only take 10-15mins at any mechanic.
