EOI Wrecked 01 XR8

Just a quick question. My mate has written on his im sure its 01 AU XR8 either 00 or 01 anyway it is a write off, k frame bent etc etc. He unsure what its worth. I know its hard to put a price on a wreck. Here is a list of wat is going on and wats good and bad. He wants to shift the whole car not pull it all apart
K frame bent
All doors stuffed
Front is prob repairable but needs abit of work
2 wheels left and centre caps
Full leather and door trims
bonnet good
boot good
Engine good
Unsure about trans and diff
new exhaust (but i think that will be mine)

Where is he, wat'd he do to write it off... Is it the 220 or 200 KW? It's probably only worth a few grand at the most, would probably be worth more if he pulled it apart....

series 1 didn't have the 220kw engine

it's an 01, ie 2001, not series 1.
I'd say pull it apart too, I reckon about 5k as a wreck.

Leather interiror = $1k, easy
Engine & transmission & ECU = $3500 (at least)
Diff $500

That's $5k just in major parts - he wouldn't get much more as a complete wreck. He'd be better off dismantling it, and selling what's left for scrap.

HLC- the kit is stuffed skirts split in two, both sides
Yes it is a 220
mattp- its worth more then 5k if he is willing to wreck it himself anyway ill chat to him see wats goin on he said he would prefer to sell the wreck as a whole but it would b worth more $$$ to wreck it himself

Tell him not to forget it will have IRS, that alone is probably worth somewhere around a grand.... There are a number of people doing IRS conversion these days... Makes a hell of a difference to the car!

Nah mate, I wasn't offering 5k, I'm not interested in anything on it, I was just saying that's what it's worth as a complete wreck, since you asked what we thought it was worth. If you split it, like JC said, you'll (he'll) do much better.

HLC the rear skirt is stuffed but is repairable but i think ud be better off going to AWC for a new one anyway ill ask him more and see wat happens

04/01 I thought the 220 didn't come out until near the end of 01.

It may not be an 04/01 build, it was dark when i looked last night and had a cpl of beers so i will confirm, but it has 220 badge on the rear but that doesnt mean much.
Still dont know if he wants to part it out or not yet ill have to get more info as i dont see him that often

Austin i wasnt getting ppls hopes up so to speak as was stated its EOI on the value of the car as a whole. Im not sure if i will see him to the w/e but if i find out you guys will be the first to know
