Surely you would find out exactly what it is you are buying before signing on the dotted line , I know i would!

As far as i know a 220kw is worth a bit more than a 200kw

going on the throttle body, its a 200kw motor. altho it also should have the engine builders name on the drivers side rocker cover.

looks like a 200 to me, either way a nice pickup. Get some wax onto the black and enjoy a Black AU XR in full sun!

I thought the 220kw motor had an engine oil cooler fitted, an adapter between the oil filter and block with hoses running up to an oil cooler at the front of the radiator. I have been told that this is the easiest way to tell a 200kw motor from a 220kw motor.

that and the t/b are the easiest ways to tell. the 220kw motor has the tickford wings engraved onto the t.b as where the 200kw motor doesnt. also the 200kw motor is 65mm tb and the 220kw is a 70mm t/b, but these are easy things to change ;)

I dont understand you young blokes, how do you go out and get a loan for a car, then buy one and dont see if you can get insurance before you buy it?

Most banks insist on full comprehensive insurance, and to be noted on the policy. I doubt he'll get the finance without the insurance.

JustCars is probably the only mob that will touch you - expect around $3k per year premium.

And that is all the difference in the world. Insurance on an AU2 XR6 for me is around $400. For the same model, with the same options, but with a V8, is around $800. And that's with 60% NCB. So if $800 is 40%, I think you can work out the full premium (around $2k), and that's in the nice safe postcode I live in . Sydney and Melbourne will be more.

yeah, its stupid. but i understand where the companies are coming front. i can get myself into plenty of trouble with my AU, let alone one with a V8..... im not even on the policy on my dads XR8 cause it blows it out of the water, for the amount of times i drive it. at most about 5 times a year.

i think my old's took me off the policy on my mums car as well cause it was wasting too much money.

another example, my sister has a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, she is 16.

this year, insurance is $800 (im not listed on it). when she turns 17/gets her P's in june, Insurance goes up to $1800.

i am 21 and got insurance of just car insurance it was 2500 though. My 220 has 220 written on the engine cover as the photos you have posted dont have it i would say its a 200kw engine. I agree with the others on the wheels though. Leave the ones that youve got on it.
