Question mudflaps

First thing I did when i got the car was remove the el stocko faded black mudflaps.

I'm sick of cleaning the sill panels and rear bumper, not to mention the stone chips in the lower 1/3 of the door. Though it does clean up the lines of the car with them off...

Question: I'm doing an engine dress-up soon; painting airbox, batt. cover, radiator shroud etc body colour. Do you guys reckon i should paint the mudflaps body colour and put them back on or leave them off?

leave them off!!! please leave them off! lol... seriously i'd rather have a couple stone chips on the door rather than mud flaps. and body coloured would look dodgy.

I got my car without them... But I'm the same, chips, dirt, tar & grime all flick up, and ruin the paint, and its a pain cleaning them. Ones like the new BA's look alright, probably because they aren't as big as some others, which makes them more subtle.

And, on some cars, they can actually make the car look a bit lower.

But when the time comes for a bodykit, off they'll come.

I got them on my BA... I like the idea of them as they save all that muck going up the sides, all i basically get up the sides after driving in the rain is a bit of spray which easily comes off and reduces swirls.. Without them mud and shit sprays up the sides scratching the paint when you wash it off.. I had them on my AUII XR6 aswell and thought they were good.

I remember seeing them once for some kinda Civic, but basically it was a ricer mod that turned the mudflap mount points into a freaking wing on the side of your car.

Ew.

The 'one size fits all' wit F O R D on them look shocking. The molded ones look good and serve a purpose. When colout coded can look better.
I'm going to refit mine once I've repainted them.

I bought my car without them and i've got no intention to put them on any car I own. I hate the things. On every car they seem to be a faded, scratched plastic adbomination; a gutter scraping nightmare.

I've got admit though it is funny when seeing ute's with the Kenworth Truck flaps

Big Pete, Alfred E Neuman rocks!!!

I took my mudflaps off yesterday... the plastic underneath is in terrible condition :

But I don't have a choice with having mudflaps on my car anymore :evil3:
